Meeting Agenda
The Lower Minnesota River Board of Managers will meet in a special work session before its regular Board of Managers meeting at 6:00 pm Wednesday, June 18, 2025, in the County Board Room at the Carver County Government Center.
The purpose of the special meeting is to plan for the Minnesota River Boat Tours planned for the afternoon of Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Meeting materials will be posted as they become available.
MEETING OBJECTIVES:
• To kick-off planning for signature LMRWD event
• Discuss theme and visioning of event
• Begin discussing logistics for event planning
AGENDA:
1. Define Roles and Responsibilities (15 min)
Solidify Working Committees and Board Commitments
Detail Roles and Responsibilities of Staff, Consultants, and Board
Define Event Owner
Define Communication Preferences
2. Introduce New Consultant Partners (15 min)
Discuss onboarding of Tunheim (PR Role )
Discuss Facilitator Role and Status of Request for Proposal (RFP)
3. Orient Board of Managers to Events and Expectations (15 min)
Define three events making up the Minnesota River Boat Tour and contextualize within the watershed planning process.
Wednesday, July 30 (4-10pm) [tentative]: Board of Managers River Tour. Pontoon ride with Board of Managers to prepare for public event.
Thursday, August 14 (2:30-7pm): Minnesota River Boat Tour. Public riverboat event, featuring a celebration of 65th anniversary and facilitated visioning session for stakeholder input to planning process.
Post-Event Data Review, Date TBD: Facilitated meeting to digest and review stakeholder data collected at the event to process it for Watershed Management Plan.
4. Action Items and Planning Discussion (15 min.)
Discuss goals and vision of event: what does success look like?
Document initial ideas from Board of Managers.
Detail action items and next steps.
